Mongrel Merchandise Co. is a one-man not-for-profit hardcore band merchandise distributor based in Melbourne, Australia.
It incurs all of the costs in having international hardcore bands' merchandise made and sold in Australia, and passes on 100% of the profits earned in the process to the band whose merchandise is sold.
For the bands, it means they can make some cash to keep their music going without spending a cent themselves.
For Australian fans (though MMC does ship internationally too), it means being able to support international bands at an affordable price because international shipping fees and currency conversions are avoided.
Essentially, the aim is to facilitate Aussie support for those overseas hardcore bands that Australians love, without breaking the bank.
The concept of MMC came about during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, which prevented and or made it hard for international bands to get their merchandise to Australian fans.
